ESQUIMALT'S Full Service Auto Repair Since 1989

Our Story

Proudly serving Victoria and Esquimalt with trusted auto repair service

The Lyall Street Service building was originally constructed in 1970 and operated as the Base Exchange Service Station. On March 16, 1989, Peter Grant took ownership, establishing what is now proudly known as Lyall Street Service.

Under Peter’s leadership, the shop became a trusted name in automotive repair in Victoria, BC, built on honesty, reliability, and genuine care for the community. Peter continued leading Lyall Street Service until his retirement in 2022, maintaining the strong reputation the shop had earned over decades.

Peter’s brother, Jimmy Grant, was a dedicated worker at Lyall Street Service and is remembered and honoured each year through the Lyall Street Service ALS Fundraiser and Car Show, a meaningful community event held in recognition of his life and his courageous battle with ALS.

Jimmy’s legacy remains an important part of the shop’s identity and its connection to the community.

Following Peter’s retirement, Curtis Harold took over operations, continuing the tradition of dependable auto repair and customer-first service.

Today, Lyall Street Service remains a community-oriented automotive repair shop dedicated to providing honest diagnostics, reliable repairs, and fair pricing for drivers throughout Victoria.
